Does What People Think Really Matter?

If you were to ask a person of any age group, what is one skill they would like to build, there is a high probability that they would say, its confidence, but is confidence really a skill, isn't it essentially you expressing your viewpoints without having the fear of being judged, and even if it is a skill how can you get better at it. The answer to this question is very simple, you don't have to go anywhere searching for confidence, it lies within you. Think of your confidence as a vehicle stuck in an eternal red light being unable to move forward, this red light in life is a simple question; what will people think? I'm going to explain my take on this subject through three simple points.

1.PEOPLE DON'T REALLY CARE

Look at the irony, what you really thought would be the biggest problem is not a problem at all, it does matter whether it is a performance you are doing on stage or an important life decision of yours, people might initially start to have disagreements with it, but this possibly lasts for the shortest time possible, if you don't trust me think about yourself, do you really mind about the details of a person's life if it's not  you or someone you really care about? No, and that is exactly how everyone else is as well, they have their own problems to be worried about and things to be excited and happy about.

2.THEIR OPINIONS DO NOT MATTER 99% OF THE TIME

I know this comes off as quite harsh, but hear me out, every time you have backed out from something due to pressure from your background, you have missed out on something incredible, and what is that? It's the experience, you could have excelled or not excelled at it, we don't know for sure but what we know for sure is about the experience, that experience could have possibly given you a lot of perspective on how to go forward, just like a video game, you might have to play the same level multiple times in order to win.

3.IT’S ALL GOOD IF IT DOES NOT HURT ANYBODY ELSE

This is the most important out of the three points, even if you follow the two points mentioned above and ignore this, then everything else will be just counterproductive. I believe this point applies to everything else in life as well. If you are the reason why someone’s mental, physical or emotional health is deteriorating, then that is an actual problem and this is the reason why I believe it is fine to do whatever you want as long as it does not cause harm to another person.

In order to conclude, my belief will always be that, what does not kill you, will make you stronger and this is my sole motivation to try new things in life, if you continue to be a prisoner of the thoughts of another person, you are caging your emotions, which will eventually lead to the loss of the freedom of your thoughts.
