(The initial paragraph of this article is just an introduction to the philosophy that I wish to profess here and honestly it might seem genuinely boring so feel free to skip it if you do not wish to understand the crux of the matter)
The future is definitely uncertain but does uncertain equate to negative? Possibly. The human mind is often pessimistic but what generally leads to negativity? Isn't it whatever that is inherently bad? Examples include corruption, poverty, bribery, dictatorship etc. If you try to think a little simpler here you'll understand who the common culprit is, a singular authority.
Most problems that occur in society are because power resides in the hands of one person or one organization but what if that was changed, what if everyone had a say? No, it's not an utopian vision, this is already a reality in a particular sphere of life which is finance; crypto currency is what I'm talking about, crypto currency is not under the control of a single person rather, every user of a particular crypto currency affects its market value, on the other side of the spectrum you'll find what we use today as currency, take the Indian rupee as an example, the RBI has complete control over it. So how does this really matter? What difference is present between the two and even if there is a difference; will it affect the common man? Have a look at the table attached below if you have the same queries that I have mentioned above.
(So far we have tried to explain decentralization in terms of finance, but now let's look at the philosophical point of view. If you are going to continue reading, please do understand that the following will not be practical advice nor is there any guarantee that it will be rational.)
Imagine a world where all walks of life are decentralized, from politics to social media. This would essentially mean that a leader would only be elected to process what the public wishes, it's extremely ironic how this is how it's actually supposed to be. Imagine social media where the corporation does not take the money for the ads you are watching but you do. Imagine a corporation where the CEO doesn't make the decisions but the employees do. All of this might seem nice for a short amount of time but eventually this will lead to poor decision making, wastage of funding etc. and honestly speaking the cons outweigh the pros if you really think about it.( I have no idea how I started of with philosophy and came back to practicality here). What could potentially work is that a portion of the world's working remains decentralized for example money and this is exactly what crypto currency is trying to achieve. The instability of crypto is something that should be taken into consideration here as well, in order to sum up, I haven't really been able to arrive at a conclusion on this topic as you can see, do let me know what you think about it.
(Isn't this communism?- a dear friend of mine)
