Being Kind Not Just For The Sake Of It

What irrational topic is this?, this was most probably your first reaction, isn’t kindness something that should be practiced by everyone without the need of being told. Well….not everyone is like that and even both you and I can have our moments where we do not display our best behaviour and personally I believe that it is completely natural for any human being to do so, but what I’d like to give some emphasis here is being kind without expecting anything in return, a typical question that could arise is, why we should not ‘expect anything’ in return and that is exactly what I want to explain in the following paragraphs. Being kind not just for the sake of it is the best thing you can do as a human being, it does not matter who is at the other end, an animal, insect or even Mother Earth herself, coming back to human beings, lets just take a hypothetical situation into consideration here, you being the kind person you are, helps someone with something and you expect them to repay you...

Body Positivity, Social Media And Your Mind-set

Body positivity is something that I have wanted to talk about for the longest time, this is most probably the only topic that every human being on planet Earth has at least once thought about. Before I get started, what exactly is body positivity? To put it short, It is a movement that is trying to empower individuals of all body profiles. I'll explain my take on this subject through two main points. Unlike most other topics, I don’t really have to explain the origins of body image issues, it's pretty self explanatory, from my understanding, the reason it occurs is because of two important yet very silly problems; 1) Not having proper education on fitness and nutrition. 2) Setting a particular body type in their mind as the standard. The first problem can be easily solved by watching a 10 minute video on basic nutrition and fitness as this mainly pertains to your body composition, but there is more to body image, your skin, hair, scars etc. This is where the second and much bi...

The Symbiotic Relationship Between Acceptance And Happiness

Happiness is a vague term, it can mean one thing to one person while another might consider the exact opposite of it as happiness but something we can all collectively agree is that happiness gives us a sense of comfort,so how is this related to acceptance? To put it in the most basic terms, in the current world we are surrounded by expectations, expectations from our parents, expectations from society and what not. In order to fulfill these expectations, we tend to set goals for ourselves and when we fail to accomplish these goals, we enter a downward spiral that will make us feel bad about ourselves. We go through this spiral because we cannot accept reality, mostly because it is not what we pictured for ourselves. So what am I trying to say here, not to set goals for yourself? Absolutely not, that would be nothing but plain ignorance. What you should try to understand is that,in life you cannot change some facts, the family that you were born into, your ethnicity, your body features e...

TOXIC POSITIVITY

As I am starting to write this article, I'm quite sure that a portion of the readers are not going to agree with me, but ignoring that for the time being , I believe this is an important topic that deserves our attention. So, to start with the title, how can two words be more contradicting, shouldn't toxic and positivity remain on opposite ends of the spectrum. Well...no, it turns out that not only is this an actual issue but most of us might have already experienced it multiple times.Think of that one time, when you were extremely sad and there was possibly nothing you could have done about the situation and someone tells you to not worry about it or when you failed at something and your mentor told you failure is not an option, will that really make a difference? That's it, that's the simplest way you can define toxic positivity. So where exactly did we all pick up this habit?(don't act like you haven't done it) and is this even  an actual issue or is it s...

Does What People Think Really Matter?

If you were to ask a person of any age group, what is one skill they would like to build, there is a high probability that they would say, its confidence, but is confidence really a skill, isn't it essentially you expressing your viewpoints without having the fear of being judged, and even if it is a skill how can you get better at it. The answer to this question is very simple, you don't have to go anywhere searching for confidence, it lies within you. Think of your confidence as a vehicle stuck in an eternal red light being unable to move forward, this red light in life is a simple question; what will people think? I'm going to explain my take on this subject through three simple points. 1.PEOPLE DON'T REALLY CARE   Look at the irony, what you really thought would be the biggest problem is not a problem at all, it does matter whether it is a performance you are doing on stage or an important life decision of yours, people might initially start to have disagreements w...
